Rooftop bar Notch opening soon
While it may not have felt like it recently, summer is coming, and we are promised that the heatwave will start this weekend with London being hotter than Ibiza. It is therefore great timing that the rooftop bar Notch is opening on Thursday 5th May on the rooftop of the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane. Last year, their very popular bar Roofnic had customers queuing to get in, and no less is expected this year for Notch.
What will it be like?
Notch’s style is described as "Williamsburg Warehouse meets Berlin Yard Sale." The aim of design team DENLDN is to create an industrial playground on the rooftop complete with swings that look down on Oxford Street. Reclaimed school science tables, scaffolding and Edwardian floorboards all help to create the look.
What’s on the menu?
Fudo Shack provides an all-day menu of street food, including spicy Buffalo wings, short rib steamed buns and sashimi pizza, which is topped with anchovy aioli, tuna, wasabi tobiko, coriander and sesame seeds, as well as a range of delectable desserts and sweets. If you visit at the weekend, there will be a dedicated brunch menu for you to enjoy.
What about drinks?
Enjoy a range of tequila-, gin- and rum-based cocktails, or try some sharing cocktails, including the Old Fashioned, Adonis and Uncle Wray’s Slushie Rum Punch. Tuna cans can be bought filled with ready-made Negroni. Those who don’t want a cocktail can order bags of wine and craft beers.
When to visit
Notch will be open seven days a week, from 10am until 10pm. Don’t worry if the great British summer is not as fine as we hope, because Notch will be open come rain or shine. A rooftop cover will ensure that whatever the weather, you can enjoy the lively vibe of this bar in the sky.
