Our first year of opening gave rise to Fat Olives becoming runners up to ‘The News Restaurant of the year awards’ and again in 2005 and 2008. We were also winners of the ‘Charity Best Business’ award in 2006 for monies raised for local charities. These awards are gratefully received as they are awarded through votes from the local readers and customers via the Portsmouth News.
All our dishes are freshly prepared on the premises using as many local suppliers within the surrounding areas as well as serving fish and seafood from sustainable sources.
"The menu is an appetising fusion of modern, well thought through ideas. It might take in roast breast and confit leg of quail with chorizo-spiked cassoulet, then move on to perfectly-timed silver mullet with Puy lentils, neatly balanced by the tartness of salsa verde. Or you might be tempted by a more Brit-influenced and resolutely local plate of South Downs pork loin teamed with a faggot, quince, and trotter sauce. At the end, vanilla pannacotta comes with raspberry coulis and crunchy oat biscuits" - AA Guide 2016
