The restaurant was originally a pair of 16th century cottages and still retains the original oak beams with a log burning fire and fine views to Watership Down, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey!) and Pond from which we take our name.
The Dew Pond can seat up to 45 diners, and is also available for private dining with exclusive use of the restaurant both lunch and dinner subject to availability. We have created a selection of set menus suitable for these occasions, which can be matched with recommended wines if required – note these menus are only available for parties in excess of 12 people.
We hold wine dinners periodically throughout the year which give the opportunity to try a tasting menu together with matching wines at each course, details are available on this website or just give us a call.
There is no dress code although most guests prefer smart casual. We look forward to entertaining you soon.
We make our own bread each day, canapés and chocolates, we have built up a great relationship with our suppliers, some of which we have used since the start.
Our fish & shellfish are sourced from Newlyn and Brixham, Game from the farm across the field, locally reared beef, pork & lamb and homegrown garden herbs.
The wine list has been chosen with an emphasis on quality & interest rather than quantity, we also have a good selection of Fine Wines for those that are interested.
