The Tally Ho’s country pretentions are instantly visible with a beautiful
Collyweston façade and mossy slate roof an idyllic 1750s shell for what is, after all, a traditionally oriented restaurant appealing to the hunting fraternity and cleft in a valley of Lincolnshire countryside.

The restaurant’s three AA diamonds, a mention in the Good Pub Guide, in Michelin’s guide and a forthcoming mention in Egon Ronay’s guide does rather validate the Tally Ho!’s gourmet qualities, as does their owners James and Jo’s use Stokes of Lincoln coffee, Dennett’s Ices, meat from Skinners of Barrowby, vegetables grown locally all around the inn, Bateman’s beer for their ale pie, and Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and local pork pie for their special
Poacher’s Ploughman.

The 40 cover restaurant has three menus for lunchtime, Sunday and
evening dining respectively. Daytime dining in the bar or restaurant offers possibilities including Dicken’s Suet Pudding – the inn’s signature dish according to James - Bateman’s Pie, Poacher’s Ploughman, toasted sandwiches, and special afternoon teas with a range of home made scones and plum bread for an indulgent and
warming winter treat.

Meanwhile, evening dining is more formal with a range of seven starters, and seven main courses as well as a range of grills. Highlight dishes include succulent Lincolnshire Duckling, Lamb Medallions and Gamekeepers’ Gun – a superb stew served with Dumplings and Crusty Bread.
Huge open fires and a coaching-inn feel render the restaurant a fitting venue indeed for year round dining.
