Magpies is a traditional restaurant
and a picturesque fusion of two terraced
cottages, taken over by
Andrew Gilbert and Caroline Ingall,
offering quality dining at gastropub
prices, with a superb reputation for
being ideally placed in rural
Lincolnshire’s hub, Horncastle.
Since coming to the restaurant the
couple closed Magpies for four
months whilst they extended and
revamped the kitchens, added a
sitting room, enlarged the reception
and redecorated completely,
creating the cosy and welcoming
ambience you can witness today.
The 35 cover restaurant and no resit
policy results in an intimate and
relaxed environment perfectly suited
to the well presented food. Crisp
white damask tablecloths, tasteful
table plants and silver candlesticks
evoking a soft light to |
|
complement a range of dishes borrowing from Lincolnshire’s gastronomic culture with a selection of game, white meat & red meat from Eric Phipps,
and only the finest locally sourced
Lincolnshire vegetables to create a
blend of traditional English food
taking advantage of Lincolnshire as
a food producing region in
particular, with French and Pacific
influences.
The quality theme is similarly
continued with all the bread and
petit fours at Magpies handmade,
and plenty of choice for egetarians,
demonstrating the thought and
attention that goes into creating an
individual dining experience of true
quality. Magpies easily deserves to be proud of its reputation as one of
the most accessible, enjoyable
quality dining restaurants in the
county |
